ORIGIN & STORY
From: Ethiopia
About: Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, offers a heritage as rich as the flavors in your cup. Coffee has been part of Ethiopian culture since the 9th century, first cultivated as food before the Arab world popularized brewing as a beverage. While Ethiopian coffee began as a wild harvest, it has evolved into a carefully cultivated export. In the Sidamo highlands, coffee grows at altitudes above 6,000 feet, where heirloom varietals flourish, producing the distinct flavors you savor today. Smallholder farmers, who represent 95% of Ethiopian coffee producers, maintain traditional methods while contributing to the global appreciation of Ethiopia’s unique coffee legacy.
